Cherita Reed, is a native of Chicago, IL and a devout Christian. She is a lover of music, and she comes from a rich musical background, including that of her late grandfather, Jimmy Reed, a legend in the Blues genre.
Throughout her educational career, her passion for music led her to pursue a degree in Music Education and Vocal Studies from Northern Illinois University.
Her mastery of theory and application, coupled with her own expertise and skill, afforded her many opportunities to perform on large platforms around the country and overseas. Some of the highlights are performances at the Chicago Gospel Fest, Chicago Blues Fest, performances in Durban, South Africa and Lallapalooza sharing the stage with Chance the Rapper.
Cherita’s enormous love for music reaches far beyond herself, and she delights in bringing out the best in each of her student’s gifts. She also works with a number of choirs and musicians, helping to fine-tune their gifts for ministry. Her professional and positive attitude, along with her strong work ethic has given her opportunities to support recording artists in the studio and on TV broadcasts/sets, and perform at numerous wedding, church events, and festivals.
